Last spring, we shared our new mission, to foster creative opportunity, with you. Since then, this mission was tested as we worked to support Flagstaff’s creative sector through one of the most challenging years on record. We know that you support our mission and vision, in order to continue our work, we need your help.
The Covid-19 pandemic continues to significantly impact arts, science, & culture in our community. To combat this, in addition to the $340,000 awarded to 39 non-profits as part of our Arts & Sciences grant program, we granted an additional $70,000 in relief funding to 22 organizations. Another $40,000 will be granted this month to collaborative projects that help the creative sector adapt. These grants were made possible by donations from you, our members & supporters and the City’s BBB fund.
Over the last several months, the Flagstaff Arts Council worked hard to support our creative community through this pandemic. But, between a scaled back Viola Awards, continued postponement of events at Coconino Center for the Arts, and other strained revenue sources, Flagstaff Arts Council must raise over $100,000 in contributions over the next 8 months. Every bit counts. If you normally attend the Viola Awards or concerts at CCA, you are critical for our financial success.
