The Arts Council presents a variety of events throughout the year, at the Coconino Center for the Arts and in other venues around Flagstaff. At the Center, you’ll experience art exhibitions, compelling concerts, and more. Around Flagstaff, we host performances on downtown Flagstaff’s Heritage Square, concerts in the idyllic setting at the Arboretum at Flagstaff, and Navajo Rug Auctions at the Museum of Northern Arizona.

Flagstaff 2030: Community Vision Meeting @ Coconino Center for the Arts

Please join us this Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 5:30pm. We will explore three key questions: How do we foster an even stronger creative economy? What collectively inspires us and makes Flagstaff unique? (Hint: the intersection of art & science is key.) And, how do we promote cultural equity and consciousness? These questions could greatly alter the course of the Flagstaff Arts Council that you know and love. We want you to be proud of what we come up with! All are welcome.

Speaking of Data and Building Blocks for Financial Health

In this extended workshop, participants will take a deep-dive into their own organization’s data and practice learning from and using that data as part of their work. The workshop will also explore and practice using two elements of financial health: financial metrics, and financial projections. This intensive session is ideal for decision-making staff and board members interested in learning how to read their SMU DataArts Analytic Reports, learn more about financial metrics and projection, and practice using them in conversations with various stakeholders and audiences.

This workshop is produced in partnership with the Arizona Commission on the Arts and the Flagstaff Arts Council.

This workshop is FREE to attend, please us the button below to register.

REVIEWS

  • A Lie of the Mind may be its author’s most romantic play. However bleak and chilly its terrain — some of it unfolds, in more ways than one, in blizzard — no character, alive or dead, is beyond redemption. There is always hope, as Mr. Shepard’s closing metaphor has it, for a miraculous ”fire in the snow.” And the work’s buoyancy doesn’t end there. A Lie of the Mind is the unmistakable expression of a major writer nearing the height of his powers. — Frank Rich, NY Times
  • Mr. Shepard’s richest and most penetrating play, a 20th-century masterwork of a family portrait to be compared with Eugene O’Neill’s Long Day’s Journey Into Night and Harold Pinter’s Homecoming. —  Ben Brantley, NY Times
