Flagstaff Arts Council and Greenhouse Productions are pleased to present Martin Sexton in concert at the Coconino Center for the Arts on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Doors open at 6:30pm and the concert begins at 7:30pm.
Martin Sexton returns with what Rolling Stone calls his “soul-marinated voice,” acoustic guitar, and a suitcase full of heartfelt songs. The winter tour begins with an extensive run through Europe then takes Martin across North America trying out new material as well as reinventing his own classics for these critically-acclaimed solo performances.
Still fiercely independent and headlining venues from The Fillmore to Carnegie Hall, he has influenced a generation of contemporary artists. His songs have appeared in television series such as Scrubs, Parenthood, Masters of Sex. It’s his incendiary live show, honest lyrics, and vocal prowess that keep fans coming back for a new experience every time. For more information, please visit: martinsexton.com
Chris Trapper opens the show with his soulful, honeyed tenor, sly humor and an uncanny knack for melody. Chris has traveled the world over, performing to a dedicated and ever growing fan base with nothing but his guitar and his songs. Raised on Prine and Kristofferson, Trapper’s first foray in the music industry was as frontman of the critically acclaimed alt-rock band The Push Stars (Capitol Records). Over the past decade, Chris has become a modern day acoustic troubadour, performing over 150 dates a year. The New York Times has called his work “classic pop perfection.”
The Huffington Post calls him “A brilliantly gifted songwriter.” For more information: christrapper.com
