Flagstaff Arts Council is pleased to present the Interference Series at the Coconino Center for the Arts on Wednesday, September 26 . Doors at 7:00pm and concert begins at 7:30pm.

The Nakatani Gong Orchestra – NGO – is Tatsuya Nakatani’s large ensemble nomadic sound art project. Consisting of 17 of Nakatani’s adapted Gongs played with his handmade bows, it is the only bowed Gong Orchestra in the world. Local players from each community are brought together for a technique workshop and rehearsal with Nakatani before he conducts them in a public performance of his improvised harmonic composition. Through hundreds of performances, thousands of participants and audience members have been involved in creating these transformative art works. The Interference Series is proud to bring the first ever performance of this project to the Flagstaff Community.

*This project is supported by the NAU Honors College*
