Flagstaff Arts Council is pleased to present another 6-week series of Introduction to Improvisational Comedy Workshops with Garrison Garcia.

Classes will meet weekly on Tuesday evenings, 6–8pm, from August 30 through October 4, 2016, at the Coconino Center for the Arts. There will be a final performance on Tuesday, October 11 at 6pm.

Participants in these workshops will learn the basics of listening, agreement and teamwork through the introduction of short form games. In sessions, students will focus on the exploration of characters, environments and organic openings. The last two weeks will teach long form principles, and prepare students for the stage. The workshops are designed for all levels of experience and skill.

Garrison GrantInstructor Garrison Garcia has been silly all his life, and after giving improv comedy a try, he realized how silly EVERYONE can be. After being a performing member of Northern Arizona University’s improv grou NAUghty Bits, Garrison went on to found Tiny Punches, the Circus Arts Studio house longform improv team.  Garrison also produces and directs the Flagstaff Foundry, Flagstaff’s only monthly community variety show.

He firmly believes that anyone can do improv, and enjoys working with first timers as much as seasoned pros.
