Sei Saito's Studio

IMG_6631This workshop, Heart to Heart: Coaching the Artist Within, will focus on the ideas that make art. Participants will learn and experiment with different approaches to finding subject matter for the development of new art. The workshop will be held at Sei Saito’s studio in Doney Park just outside Flagstaff, Arizona. Workshop participants will be given a tour of Saito’s studio and be able to view more of her art work that is not on display in the Journey exhibition at the Coconino Center for the Arts.

Artist Sei Saito will lead the workshop with Al Hinton, Professor Emeritus at the University of Michigan School of Art, and Franklin Willis, professor of painting at the Northern Arizona University School of Art.

In addition to the focus on ideas, participants will learn techniques including Drawing and Acrylic Painting, in addition to Collage and use of materials to capture subjects for painting.

This workshop is for all levels of artist, from the seasoned and skilled artist to beginners. No experience is necessary. Materials are provided, but seasoned artists are welcome to bring their own instruments if preferred.
