Participants are invited to spend a day in the clay studio making their own clay pieces with veteran potter Joni Pevarnik. The first part of the day will be demonstrations of work made on the potters wheel, slab building and hand-building techniques. The second part of the day will give participants the opportunity to make their own work using the techniques that they saw in the morning. All work created will be fired. Participants can pick up their finished work 2 weeks later. The workshop will take place at the artist’s studio in Williams, AZ.
Clay, firing and lunch is included in the workshop.
“One of the most rewarding parts of working in the clay medium is all the mystery that clay provides. Each time you throw a pot on the potter’s wheel, your mind relaxes and you’re able to almost meld with the spinning clay. The fire has its own effect on the piece and the maker is soon an observer as the flame does its magic…” -Joni Pevarnik
