2019 Viola Award Finalist for Emerging Artist

Born and raised in Maryland, Gavin Buckley is best known for his work as a recurring actor in Theatrikos and Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival productions, but additionally serves as a board member for the Northern Arizona Book Festival and the Master Chorale of Flagstaff. During the days you can find Gavin working as a paralegal at Aspey, Watkins & Diesel, PLLC.

Buckley’s acting debut was in the Theatrikos production of John Logan’s Red in November of 2017, and he also performed in the NorthernArizona Playwriting Showcase Annual Event that year.

In 2018 Buckley made his first performance with FlagShakes in Sam Sheppard’s Fool for Love, where he played one of the leads, Eddie. He then performed in Theatrikosproduction The Trip to Bountiful and also acted in the FlagShakes production of Titus Andronicus.

Buckley completed 2018 by appearing as the protagonist and narrator, Nick Carraway, in Theatrikos’ rendition of The Great Gatsby. Buckley’s portrayal of the character was described by The Arizona Daily Sun as “shining performance”.
