After 11 years as the Executive Director of the Flagstaff Arts Council, I am leaving this post. I have accepted a new job to be the Executive Director of Washed Ashore in Oregon. I’ll be living on the Oregon coast in the Pacific NW, which has been a dream of mine for a long time! I informed the Arts Council board of directors that I will resign as of August 10.
The Arts Council Board has hired the talented and brilliant Becky Daggett as Interim Executive Director. She begins in August and will remain for about six months while a national search is underway. The Board and staff here are wonderful and ready for the transition, so all is well at the Arts Council during this change.
For me, this is all very bittersweet… I love this town and have made many wonderful connections here, but I’m also excited for a new adventure. Working with this organization for the benefit of Flagstaff has been so rewarding. My thanks go out to all of you who have supported and worked with me over the years; it’s been an honor to work with you all, and call many of you my friends.
The Board is hosting a party at the Coconino Center for the Arts on Thursday, August 9, from 4-7pm, during the Bendel exhibition. There will be a cash bar and light snacks. Please come by, say goodbye, and share one final arts experience with me.
