ElizabethsThe Flagstaff Arts Council is currently accepting applications for two positions. The Flagstaff Arts Council operates the Coconino Center for the Arts (CCA) and serves as the local arts agency for the City of Flagstaff. The Arts Council produces a number of arts, culture and science public programs, including art exhibitions, concerts, First Friday ArtWalk, Navajo Rug Auctions, workshops, performances, and much more. The mission of the Council is to enhance the spectrum and quality of cultural experiences available to residents of and visitors to our community.

Position Description: Exhibitions Coordinator

Reports To: John Tannous, Executive Director
Location: Coconino Center for the Arts, Flagstaff, Arizona
Term of Position: February – August 2015

Primary Function / Purpose:

The Exhibitions Coordinator supports the production and installation of art exhibitions at the Coconino Center for the Arts. The position also recruits and manages volunteers and interns in order to support this work. The position also assists with marketing and PR for Arts Council programs, and provides staff support for events and programs.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assists with planning and implementation of art exhibitions at CCA
  • Assists with planning and implementation of a robust marketing and P.R. plan to effectively promote the Arts Council and Flagstaff, and attract new volunteers and members
  • Volunteer and membership recruitment, management and retention
  • Customer service
  • Provides event support for concerts, receptions, performances and events
  • Customer service and education to the visiting public and volunteers
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Stipend and Other Benefits:

Full-time (40 hrs/week—900 hrs total)

Gross Stipend Amount for Term = $6,878 + Educational award = $2,822

Americorps positions at the Arts Council offer a valuable and unique opportunity for professional advancement in the arts, culture and non-profit sector. Members receive hands-on working experience in event production, marketing, gallery production, volunteer management, and project planning.

Office setting, gallery, theater space and some events in other venues. Professional attire required. Members are required to have reliable transportation and must have a flexible schedule (nights and weekends for special events and gallery coverage).
