The view of every concert at the Arboretum is spectacular.
We are pleased to announce the line-up for the 2014 Summer Concert Series at the Arboretum at Flagstaff! Nestled in the pines at the gorgeous outdoor setting of the Arb, these concerts are gems for your summer in Northern Arizona. With some of the finest world and traditional musicians in the southwest and a backdrop view of the San Francisco Peaks, the Summer Concert Series provides the perfect summer afternoon on five different days.
The Series kicks off with Domingo DeGrazia Spanish Guitar Band on June 7. DeGrazia blends Spanish guitar passion with the flair of Flamenco music. Then, the Flamenco really ramps up with Chris & Lena Jácome, a guitar and flamenco dance duet on June 21. The latino music continues with Todo Mundo (pictured, below) on July 5. Their music blends together the musical flavors of Rumba, Reggae, Samba, Gypsy, and other South American and Caribbean rhythms. Their CD Organic Fire was voted “Best World Music Album” at the 2011 San Diego Music Awards.
Straight from Paris, France, comes our next act, singer-songwriter Jessica Fichot with local musician, Vincent Z., on August 2. Fichot’s music is unique and hard to classify, but we know that she came to the Arboretum three years ago and put on crowd-pleasing set that people are still talking about! Finally, on September 6, world music fusion act, Traveler performs.
This line-up of musicians is one of the best we’ve had for the Summer Concert Series and is perfectly suited for the natural setting at the Arboretum. We hope you’ll join us for a few shows, or perhaps all of them!
