About the 2013 Viola Awards

The 5th Annual Viola Awards Gala was held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the High Country Conference Center in Flagstaff, Arizona. The event recognized 65 nominees – individual artists, organizations and businesses – for their contributions to the arts and sciences in Flagstaff. Over 530 people attended the event – a new record – and the audience was filled with much revelry, highlighted by emcees Kayley Smith, Esther Smith and Dave Dennehey from Circus Bacchus. There were performances by Ballet Folklorico de Colores and the Children’s Chorale of Flagstaff.

This was the first year that the Gala showed videos on the big screens at High Country Conference Center that highlighted the work of the many nominees. These videos served to educate Gala-goers about the diversity and depth of talent that exists in Flagstaff.
